Frank

Painting Description
Frankā is really a portrait of John Santigo from Silver Creek, NY. I stopped to buy fresh fruit and found the face of a man I had worked with years ago as a teenager in North Jersey. My Frank was a migrant worker who arrived every spring with his family to work the farm where I sold fruit and vegetables, and disappeared every fall. The lines on his face and the roughness of his hands spoke of long hours spent in the sun working . . .planting, hoeing, weeding, picking, lifting, hauling . . . but his spirit was inspiring . . . his twinkling eyes were always ready to play a practical joke or share a laugh.
